Description
The original crab (or at least the original commercially available pattern) for permit, designed by the legendary Del Brown. This pattern has seen a few tweaks over the decades and remains a permit favorite today. a lifetime of permit flies have come and gone, but the Merkin remains undefeated.
Bonefish and triggerfish will scarf up this pattern too. Do NOT go flats fishing without a couple in your pocket, just in case.
